The Challenge
Before coming to AOC, Motion Media sourced quotes from several BigCommerce agency partners, all coming in above $50,000, far exceeding their budget for what was primarily a UX/UI overhaul and structural rebuild. They also grew frustrated with SHOGUN’s limitations and needed more flexibility, cleaner layouts, and a more modern customer experience.

Redesign the full BigCommerce storefront with a modern, intuitive UI/UX
Replace SHOGUN with BigCommerce Page Builder for more scalable control
Rebuild key pages for improved hierarchy, clarity, and visual appeal
Fix existing bugs, template errors, and incorrect widget regions
Create fully redesigned transactional email templates that matched the new brand direction

Enhance the checkout experience and integrate personalized product suggestions
Our Approach
We restructured the site page-by-page inside BigCommerce Page Builder, replacing SHOGUN with a cleaner, more flexible architecture that preserved speed and stability. The UX/UI team produced polished layouts in Adobe XD that modernized page hierarchy, improved product storytelling, and aligned visual styles across all touchpoints.
Development then implemented each approved design, correcting widget regions, fixing legacy bugs, optimizing layouts, and ensuring consistency from homepage through checkout. In parallel, we redesigned the entire suite of transactional email templates in Klaviyo, giving Motion Media a cohesive brand experience from site visit to post-purchase follow-ups.


Outcome
Motion Media now has a streamlined, visually compelling BigCommerce experience that finally matches the quality of the creative brands they represent. The shift from SHOGUN to Page Builder unlocked true design flexibility, while the redesigned email templates strengthened customer communication and retention.
With a sharper UI, smoother navigation, and cleaner layout structure, the site now guides customers effortlessly from discovery to purchase, transforming casual visitors into loyal buyers. And best of all, they achieved a full-scale redesign, UX upgrade, and email transformation at a fraction of the quotes offered by traditional BigCommerce agencies.
