Launch Context
Di Lewis Studios needed a polished catalog-only BigCommerce experience that could showcase a premium home décor line without introducing checkout before the business was ready for full ecommerce. The build needed to prioritize visual presentation, product exploration, and a technical foundation that could support future commerce capabilities.
Built To Do More
The catalog experience needed to support several launch requirements:
Create a customized catalog-only BigCommerce site.
Present the brand through large imagery, color, pattern, and curated visual storytelling.
Improve product-page labels, descriptions, imagery, and option presentation.
Provide filtering and Favorites functionality for product discovery and re-engagement.
Support mobile usability and consistent category-page presentation.
Experience & Build Strategy
The site was designed as a gallery-style catalog rather than a conventional transactional storefront. Large imagery, modern typography, curated content blocks, and clear product organization were used to make browsing feel aligned with the studio’s premium visual identity.

Key Build Decisions

Gallery-Led Presentation
Homepage, category, and supporting content were structured around high-impact imagery and a clean visual hierarchy.

Custom Product Pages & Swatches
Custom development supported enhanced color-swatch behavior and product-page presentation that standard theme behavior did not provide.

Filtering & Product Discovery
Filtering, category organization, and hero-banner paths were implemented to help visitors move through the catalog more efficiently.

Favorites & Re-Engagement
A Favorites feature was included so visitors could save products while exploring a non-checkout catalog experience.
Launch Readiness
Product labels, descriptions, images, filtering, theme elements, and email templates were reviewed and refined as part of the completed catalog build.

Launch Outcome
Di Lewis Studios launched a catalog-only BigCommerce site with a gallery-led presentation, enhanced product pages, custom swatch behavior, filtering, Favorites functionality, and coordinated email styling. The completed build provides a storefront foundation that can support a later move into transactional ecommerce without forcing unsupported engagement or conversion claims into this case study.
