Icon Sleep has no complicated history, to begin with. This Floridan mattress pioneer started selling mattresses-in-a-box in 2011, maintained a low-profile approach to branding compared to their more colorful contemporaries, and kept the selling costs of mattresses at mind-boggling price levels.

They have no physical stores as well – keeping up with the post-pandemic trend of “everything you need is now online.”

There is virtually no hassle in selling just two types of mattresses with multiple variants. But what if you don’t just sell mattresses but also adjustable frames, pillows, protectors, and other fluffy bedroom stuff? That is the prime challenge of Icon Sleep: a powerful theme coupled with iconic design and a seamlessly working product database of more than a hundred products.

Icon Sleep also wants an uplift of its value proposition, mainly because of the fierce competition among mattress vendors.

How we did it

To address the challenges faced by Icon Sleep, AOC suggested a shift of focus on re-platforming its site and improving the customer experience it provides. Here are some of the initiatives taken by our team:

  • Unique value proposition:
    Icon Sleep needed to differentiate itself from competitors. They created a unique value proposition by offering a “100 Night Sleep Trial” that allows customers to try out the mattress risk-free for 100 nights. If they are not satisfied, they can return it for a full refund. This helped build trust and confidence in their products.
  • Customer reviews:
    To build trust, Icon Sleep encouraged customers to leave reviews of their products in the store. They also displayed reviews prominently on the product pages, which provided social proof and helped customers feel confident in their purchase decision.
  • User-Friendly Website: Icon Sleep worked with our Development and Design team to optimize the site for usability and navigation. They made it easy for customers to browse and compare different mattresses, view product details, and make purchases.
