Why It Was A Fit
StraighterLine needed a more scalable way to improve key parts of its BigCommerce experience as content, resources, and learner pathways expanded. Important pages lacked engagement, navigation was difficult to use, and high-value resources were not always easy to find. The Monthly engagement focused on improving these experiences while building reusable systems the internal team could continue to use as content evolved.

Ongoing Priorities
The engagement centered on several recurring experience and development priorities:
Create reusable Shogun templates for important content and program pages.
Improve navigation through a reworked mega menu.
Refine the login experience and prepare the interface for social-login integration.
Make the college directory easier to use for information discovery.
Keep new components scalable and aligned with the existing brand system.
Coordinate development work with the client’s engineering team for production deployment.
The Engagement
The work combined UX/UI design, development, CRO input, and implementation support. A Shogun test page was used to evaluate the page-building approach before reusable templates and interface improvements were rolled out across priority experiences. Coordination with the engineering team supported handoff and deployment as work was approved.

What We Improved Over Time

Blog Migration & Brand Extension
The team built reusable Shogun templates for experiences including How It Works pages, resource hubs, audience-specific pages, and program-specific content. The components were structured to give the team more flexibility as content changed over time.

Navigation & Mega Menu
The mega menu was redesigned to make navigation clearer and help learners reach important parts of the site more directly.

Login Experience
The login page was redesigned and prepared for a future social-login integration, improving the interface around an important returning-user touchpoint.

College Directory
The college directory was revamped to improve how partnership and institution information could be accessed and explored.

UX/UI & Deployment Support
Design and development work was coordinated with the client’s engineering team so approved components could move into production within the broader site environment.

Notable Wins
A reusable Shogun component system was established for multiple content and program experiences.
Navigation, login, and college-directory experiences were redesigned around clearer user paths.
The implementation created a more scalable content foundation for future page updates.
Looking Ahead
The work established a reusable Shogun foundation and a set of UX/UI improvements that could support continued content and experience updates
